Join us on an unforgettable trip to Tampa’s Sister-City Heraklion, Crete, and take a dive deep into the ancient past!

The city of Heraklion is known for its beautiful Venetian architecture and is the home of several wonderful museums, such as the Archaeological Museum and the Historical Museum of Crete. You are invited to visit both museums with an expert guide at your side. Especially for initiating exchange programs between the Twin Cities a Sisterhood event will be organized by Evylin Bakinta, vice-president of the Women’s Business Association of Crete.

We will visit the Minoan Palace at Knossos, the famous site of the mythic Labyrinth of the Minotaur built by Daedalos, who later escaped the maze with his son Ikaros on wings made of feathers and wax. We will be accompanied by an expert archaeologist of the Ephorate of Heraklion to answer all your questions.

The island of Santorini is a well-known tourist attraction. But did you know that it harbored a major port in Minoan times, too? Moreover, you will be feasted on an excellent wine tasting event at a local winery.

From there we will go by high-speed ferry to the island of Mykonos, another lovely tourist destination. The island is not only famous for its local cuisine but is also close by the archaeological site on the island of Delos, which you will also be able to visit. Relax and enjoy this cosmopolitan destination and also have a chance to swim in the Aegean Sea.

For the die-hards we add an extension to stay at Athens in a five-star luxury hotel near the Greek Parliament on Syntagma Square. You will be accompanied by licensed guides for sightseeing the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum as well as the National Archaeological Museum. A dinner overlooking the Acropolis is included. This modern capital is filled with world class museums, shopping, and dining. There will be time to explore on your own as well.
